The spring season is finally upon us, even though Mother Nature gifted us with snow and low temperatures on the first day of Spring. Thankfully the temperatures will rise again because we are so very ready for the season of warmer days, blossoming flowers, and delicious citrus flavors…especially the citrus flavors. Over the past few weeks, we’ve found ourselves becoming addicted to the sweet, seedless, and super easy to peel Wonderful Halos Mandarins. These all natural, non-GMO, California mandarins are not only the perfect snack, they’re wonderfully delicious in recipes. Of course, just because they are the right size for kids’ hands doesn’t mean we adults can’t enjoy them (like we’ve been doing).....

Invite to a snack showcase? I'm there! Since I have to send my daughter to school with two snacks a day, I am always on the hunt for the healthiest snacks around. I have requirements as well - they can't have any food "nasties" meaning no high fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated oils. I also look for snacks low in sugar and that would be beneficial to her daily routine (ie. when veggies are snuck in). See below for my top picks and I even found some new products for myself!.....

It's no secret that I'm a foodie and when the Fancy Food Show comes to New York's Javits Center the last Sunday in June (for a total of a three-day stint), I'm the first in line to "nosh around the clock" and check out both the old classics and newbie food items on exhibit. I always have to go press the flesh with my two fave exhibitors--Rao's Specialty Foods and Bongiovi Sauces. John Bongiovi (yes, he is Jon Bon Jovi's dad) has three killer sauces but the Garden sauce is my fave. The man's a charmer and you can see where Jon Bon got his good looks from!...

The recent 2015 Summer Fancy Food Show was quite a whirlwind. Touted as the largest marketplace devoted exclusively to specialty foods and beverages in North America, this the inaugural presentation by The Editor's Showcase was held at Jacob Javitz Center in New York City on June 28-30.

The Editor's Showcase displayed wares from superstar brands. Dave's Gourmet, actually had Dave Hirschkopf himself manning the booth and Brownie Brittle had its Founder Sheila Mains generously sharing samples. There were also newer burgeoning brands like Vermont Signature Sauces and Just Hemp...

Imagine the contents of the world's largest vending machine upended into a windowless midtown Manhattan conference room and you have Snack Attack, the media's big night to sample the best and brightest new foods that you'll be boredom-eating in 2015.

A couple of dozen exhibition tables line two sides of the meeting room, staffed by bright-eyed, golf-shirted publicists armed with product samples, coupons, and handouts. Journalists like me amble around shouldering giant tote bags, comparing the merits of roasted chickpeas and chickpea chips, sampling from a limitless buffet of snack bars, dips, lactose-free ice cream, and turkey & gravy-flavored potato chips (more on those later). It's like being on a cruise ship, with slightly less motion sickness....

What is Editor Showcase?

Editor Showcase is a private brand-to-press networking event series that gives you valuable face time with influential members of your market's print and broadcast media. Each Editor Showcase is designed to be intimate, so you get the most face time as possible.

Who attends Editor Showcase?

Not just any media, but the right media in your market category, are invited to attend, getting you one step closer to building relationships with members of the press who are most influential to the kind of coverage you need and want.

Who Exhibits at Editor Showcase?

Exhibitors at Editor Showcases include brand managers, marketers and in-house or PR agency representatives.

Do you have a host hotel?

We do! Each Showcase has its own host hotel. Please take a look at the event set-up instructions to view details on hotel rates for your showcase.

What is the cost to participate?

Exhibit space varies for each Showcase. Ask us about our Multi-brand Incentive and an early registration discount. As an exhibitor, you receive a six-foot table for product display and sampling, three representative passes and six drink tickets.

Can I attend if I'm not exhibiting?

Yes, we do have a level for business professionals to attend the Showcase without exhibiting. The fee to attend is $600 and gives you two networking passes and four drink tickets. To register, please visit the Forms section on the Web site.
